Need a Feelings Book for Toddlers?

The Feelings BookThe Feelings Book by Todd Parr introduces a number of emotions and emotional states for the youngest child, with simple text and the author's signature vibrant style of artwork.

In this small and delightful book, each page begins with "Sometimes I feel" and includes standard emotions such as scared, cranky, lonely, brave, "like crying," and "like a king" as well as sillier fare, such as "like reading a book under the covers," "like celebrating my birthday even though it's not today," and "like kissing a sea lion."  The slightly scarier emotions are depicted with animals (such as a mouse being afraid of a cat or a single fish in a bowl being lonely), keeping this book light-hearted and fun.  The final page, too, ends on an upbeat note: "No matter how you feel, don't keep your feelings to yourself.  Share them with someone you love."

The repetitive nature of the text may even inspire your child to come up with their own silly or not-so-silly "sometimes I feel like" sentences!
